RJ Corona
Corona has 13 years experience in the fire service with volunteer, combination, and career organizations. Corona has been instructing in the fire service for the previous 10 years, with history in leading a combination organizations’ training programs over 2.5 years which comprised of a combination of 130 volunteer and career personnel as the Division Chief of Training and Safety. Currently, Corona serves as a Recruit Program Coordinator and lead instructor for Driver/Operator training with a career organization that is comprised of approximately 190 personnel.
Corona has an A.A.S in Fire Science Technology, B.S. in Fire Administration, and a M.S. in Homeland Security/Emergency Services Management. In addition to college education, Corona has his Fire Service Instructor 2, Fire Officer IV, Live Fire Instructor, and several other certifications that are accredited through ProBoard, IFSAC, and the National Fire Academy.
In his role, Corona will focus primarily on financial management and curriculum development.
Matt Soer
Soer has 22 years of experience in emergency services with volunteer, combination, and career departments. He has been instructing in both the fire and EMS realm for almost 15 years.
Soer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Central Missouri and is currently the Division Chief of Training and Safety for the Warrensburg Fire Department. In addition to his college education, Soer is a Fire Instructor 2, EMS Instructor, Live Fire Instructor, Incident Safety Officer, and Missouri Division of Fire Safety State Evaluator.
Soer is a lifelong student of the fire service. Soer resides in Missouri with his wife and daughter. When not at the firehouse, Soer enjoy's traveling, gardening, and tending to his homestead with his wonderful family.
In his role, Soer will focus primarily on field operations, instructor coordination, and curriculum development.
Program Instructors
Rasmussen has been involved in Fire and EMS services since 2012 at volunteer, combination, and career departments. He currently is a career Firefighter/Paramedic for a Fire based EMS department in North Central Missouri where he also instructs Fire 1&2 and EMS classes.
Rasmussen has a passion for medicine and fire believing that the community deserves the best on both fronts. He embodies the student of the craft mindset and takes every opportunity to learn. In addition, he has a passion for teaching and helping grow the service and holds several Fire and EMS Instructor certifications.
Rasmussen and his wife live on their family farm with their 3 children. When not working, Rasmussen enjoys family time, attending church with his family, and being outdoors.

Reno has been dedicated to the fire service for 15 years, serving full-time for 12 of those years. Reno has spent the last 7 years sharing his expertise as an instructor and holds Fire Instructor 2 certification. Currently, Reno serves as a Captain with the Clinton Fire Department, a role he has excelled in for the past 3 years.
Reno is passionate about fire service education and believes in fostering a culture of safety, knowledge, and professionalism within the fire and EMS community. Reno embraces the mindset of continuous learning and growth and is committed to developing the next generation of first responders.
Outside of work, Reno enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and staying active in the community.

Wodrich brings over 14 years of dedicated experience to the fire service through volunteer and career organizations. He currently serves as a Fire Engineer with the Lee’s Summit Fire Department, where he assists in instructing the Driver/Operator program and Live Fire training. Valuing the importance of volunteerism, Wodrich also serves as a Chief Officer with the Alma Fire Protection District.
Wodrich holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management and an Associate's in Fire Science, both earned from the University of Central Missouri. Wodrich is currently enrolled in a Master's program through Columbia Southern University, studying Fire Executive Leadership with an emphasis in Occupational Safety and Health. Wodrich maintains certifications such as Fire Service Instructor 1, Fire Officer 1, and Live Fire Instructor. He is currently pursuing Fire Officer 2 and Fire Service Instructor 2.
Wodrich believes that continuous learning, adaptability, and teamwork are the foundations of resilient, high-performing emergency response organizations, achieved through exceptional leadership, integrity, and a commitment to safety.
Outside of his professional life, Wodrich enjoys spending quality time with his family, being outdoors, and woodworking.

Bell has been in the fire service for 28 years. Bell currently serves as an Operations Captain with the Lee’s Summit Fire Department.
Bell has a passion for fire service training and believes that training combined with continuing education is the cornerstone for success in the fire service. Bell is currently finishing his Fire Service Instructor II certification and is a live fire instructor.
During his downtime Bell enjoys hunting, horseback riding and spending time with his family.

Captain David Marlo is a fire service leader with 25 years of experience with the Wentzville Fire Protection District. Marlo is known for his commitment to firefighter safety, operational efficiency, and emergency preparedness.

Marlo is an active responder beyond his District, currently serving as a member of US&R St. Louis Strike Team-1 and formerly a member of Missouri Task Force-1, participating in specialized urban search and rescue operations.
In addition to his operational and training expertise, Marlo has been deeply involved in firefighter advocacy and leadership. Marlo has served 8 years on the executive board of IAFF Local 2665, playing a vital role in supporting firefighter rights, safety, and professional development.
Away from the fire service he enjoys spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with his family, St. Louis Blues hockey games, and being a husband and active father with his two sons!

Wheeldon has over 20 years in the fire service including volunteer, and career experience in industrial and municipal departments. Wheeldon has served in many different roles within the departments he has worked including inspections, training, and other administration roles. Wheeldon has 13 years military experience as an Infantryman and Combat Medic. Wheeldon is currently a Captain with the Southern Jackson County Fire Protection District, where he has the additional responsibilities of Managing the EMS CEU program and being the Lead Instructor for Certification programs.
Wheeldon has a BS in Business Administration, Fire Service Administration, Cybersecurity, and a MA in Organizational Leadership. Fire Service Certifications include Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor III, Live Fire Instructor, and Fire Investigator.

Alberto is a Combat Paramedic (68W3P) in the Kansas National Guard and an Engineer Paramedic with the Fire Department. Alberto's military training in tactical operations and small group leadership has strengthened his ability to perform under pressure, a skill that seamlessly translates to his work in the fire service.
As a Combat Paramedic, Alberto learned to make critical decisions in high-stakes situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of others. In the fire department, Alberto brings that same focus, discipline, and leadership to every call, whether it’s responding to emergencies or mentoring his team.

Rushton has been an active member of the fire service for 21 years with a career fire department. Rushton currently serves at the rank of Captain with the Lee's Summit Fire Department. Previously, Rushton spent 5 years in the United States Marine Corps as a Infantry Sergeant, where he attended the Infantry Unit Leaders Course. Currently, Rushton is a credentialed Fire Instructor 1, Fire Officer 1, Live Fire Instructor and is enrolled in Fire Officer 2 and Fire Service Instructor 2.
Rushton believes that education and training are a necessity of the fire service. Education is important to stay up to date on new techniques, tactical procedures, and to improve the critical thinking and decision making skills to master our craft.
During his days off, Rushton spends it with family, fishing, hunting, or attending sporting events.

Currently, Teaney serves as the shift captain for the duty crew at a combination fire agency.
Teaney has a Master’s in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis on Fire Executive Leadership. In addition to college education, Teaney has his Fire Service Instructor 2, Fire Officer II, Live Fire Instructor, and several other certifications.

Scofield is a 4th generation firefighter, with 36 years of experience with volunteer, combination, and career fire departments. He has been instructing both informally and formally for about 15 years. He holds certifications in Fire Instructor 1 and Live Fire Instructor. Areas of specialty include basic & advanced pump operations and basic firefighting skills.
Scofield is an Engineer at CJC Fire in Blue Springs, where he is in his 28th year of service, and serves as a part-time Firefighter/Paramedic at the Lone Jack FD. He has previously served at the Saint Joseph, Missouri Fire Department and the Camdenton Fire Department.

Odenwald has a 38-year career in the Fire Service reaching the rank of Deputy Chief. Odenwald's career started in St. Louis County, retiring after 30 years before moving to Lake of the Ozarks and becoming Deputy Chief of Training with the Sunrise Beach FPD. Odenwald is a graduate of St. Louis County Fire Academy and past instructor and Board Member.
Odenwald received his A.A.S. in Fire Protection Technology form St. Louis CC and a B.A. of Fire Service Administration and Management for Western Illinois University/ National Fire Academy. Odenwald is certified as Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor II, Live Fire Instructor and has a achieved Chief Fire Officer Credential from the Center of Public Safety Excellence.
Odenwald worked together with the Missouri Division of Fire Safety to implement and deliver Fire Officer III and Fire Officer IV pilot programs in the state of Missouri.
Odenwald is married with 3 adult daughters and 6 grandchildren. Odenwald and his wife Carol enjoy boating, motorcycling and RV’ing in Florida with their 3 dogs.

Captain Hill has been working for the Fire Service the past 35 years. During this time, he has acquired several fire certifications to include Fire Instructor II, Officer III, Live Fire Instructor, and NIMS Officer Level Trainings to name a few. Hill has been a paramedic since 1996. Hill also enjoys serving as a Missouri Division of Fire Safety Supervising Evaluator.
Hill graduated magna cum lade with a BS in Fire Administration along with an Associates in Fire Science. Hill has served as a tactical medic for the Johnson County/City of Warrensburg SERT while also spending time as a reserve officer and Deputy. For three years, Hill worked as a NASCAR firefighter at the Kansas Speedway working in the pits and on the rescue trucks.
Hill has a strong desire for teaching. He serves as an instructor at Warrensburg Fire Department and as an adjunct at Metropolitan Community College - Blue River. Hill has attended the National Fire Academy several times over the years. When asked why does he like teaching all he said was “I just want my life to mean something”. Hill strongly believes in the philosophy that learning is something that nobody can take way from you.
